A very special journey to the birthplace of all North American Gray Whales...half way down the Baja Peninsula on the Pacific side is the bio reserve of San Ignacio Lagoon. This large but shallow lagoon is host to the whales for purposes of mating, calving, feeding, and for a short period of time interacting with humans in late Winter. It was beyond a privilege to spend time with these curious and friendly mammals. They blow frequently so I did spend a lot of the time cleaning my lenses. Well worth it.

Hiking through the geological eons in the desert was a winter treat.

By invitation a group of professional underwater image-makers from around the world gathered to explore the beautiful reef life of Puerta Galera and Dumaguete, Phillipines. Marty Snyderman, the Atlantis Ambassador, designed an incredible opportunity for a select group to work together and focus on the bountiful underwater ocean creatures of these areas within the Coral Triangle.
